{"id":229,"date":"2021-11-25T10:52:45","date_gmt":"2021-11-25T18:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vernon.mauery.com\/content\/?p=229"},"modified":"2021-11-25T10:53:09","modified_gmt":"2021-11-25T18:53:09","slug":"butterflake-rolls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vernon.mauery.com\/content\/2021\/11\/25\/butterflake-rolls\/","title":{"rendered":"Butterflake Rolls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Iconic Watson family Thanksgiving roll recipe.<\/p>\n<p>Butterflake Rolls<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/3 cup scalded milk, cooled to lukewarm<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 tablespoons instant yeast, dissolved in 1\/3 cup warm water<\/li>\n<li>2 eggs, beaten<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>4 cups flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup butter, softened<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix flour and salt in a large bowl. Mix eggs, sugar, and yeast. Add wet ingredients to flour mixture and stir thoroughly.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and let rise 45 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>After 45 minutes, butter hands and a cutting board.<\/li>\n<li>Divide the dough in half. Pat one half of the dough into a rectangular shape on the cutting board to be about 6&#215;12 inches.<\/li>\n<li>Fold over 1\/3 and pat with butter. Fold over again. Repeat three times, using half the butter for each half of the dough.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the dough in strips, one inch wide and six inches long.<\/li>\n<li>Tie each strip into a knot and drop into a greased muffin tin.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and let rise 45 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 375\u00b0F for 12 to 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Makes 24 rolls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iconic Watson family Thanksgiving roll recipe.
