The nuts are not optional. More sour cream is advised. Even an extra banana won&#8217;t hurt.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup shortening<\/li>\n<li>3 eggs<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tablespoon sour cream (or more)<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tablespoon baking soda<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tablespoon vanilla<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>4 large crushed bananas<\/li>\n<li>3 cups flour<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 cup nuts, coarsely chopped<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Beat sugar and shortening together. Add eggs and sour cream and beat some more.<\/li>\n<li>Add baking soda, vanilla, salt and bananas and stir until mixed.<\/li>\n<li>Add flour and nuts and stir until mixed.<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 350\u00b0F for 1 hour in greased bread pans.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Makes two loaves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The best banana bread ever.
